Box Score The LaGuardia Red Hawks lost to the BMCC Panthers 92-62 on Tuesday evening.
The Red Hawks started the night off slow and quickly found themselves trailing by double digits. The Red Hawks Center,
Rayan Erold Tsapi Meguie, picked up 2 very early fouls, leaving the team without a big man. BMCC was quick to exploit the lack of size in the Red Hawks lineup, scoring almost exclusively in the paint and on second chance points. They ended the half down 25 points, with BMCC doubling their point total.
There was hope that the Men would come out of the second half guns blazing like the Women had, but this hope was quickly dashed. Any adjustments Coach Lockhart made at halftime were not enough as the Red Hawks continued to suffer from a lack of size in the second half.
The two bright spots for the LaGuarida Red Hawks were starting point guard
Arthur Dukes and starting forward
Ahmad Sackor. Dukes racked up 28 points on the night, almost half of the LaGuardia points, as well as 4 assists.
Ahmad Sackor seemed to be the only part of the Red Hawks defense that worked, having 2 steals and 5 blocks on the night.
The LaGuarida Community College Red Hawks look to bounce back in their next game on November 11th against Duchess.
